I’ve been reviewing 1 Peter as of late, I say review because I’ve read this book of the Bible several times. Even though I’ve read it several times how many of us know that we will read the same books of the Bible repeatedly and receive new insight each and every time.
In this book of the Bible we see that Peter wrote letters to Christians during a time of them being persecuted for what they believed to be true. Much of which we as born again believers can relate to. In the midst of it all; the good, the bad and all the in between moments; we have invite the love of God in. The love of God that flows towards us has to flow from us.
I was inspired to share verses on love on my social media pages and landed on 1 Peter 4:8. In this particular passage it instructs us on how to love when sin is prevalent.
The New King James Version says we should have fervent love. The Amplified version says we should have fervent and unfailing love and the last translation I’ll share from is the New International Version:
𝟣 𝒫𝑒𝓉𝑒𝓇 𝟦:𝟪
𝒜𝒷𝑜𝓋𝑒 𝒶𝓁𝓁, 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒 𝑒𝒶𝒸𝒽 𝑜𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇 𝒹𝑒𝑒𝓅𝓁𝓎, 𝒷𝑒𝒸𝒶𝓊𝓈𝑒 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒 𝒸𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓇𝓈 𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓇 𝒶 𝓂𝓊𝓁𝓉𝒾𝓉𝓊𝒹𝑒 𝑜𝒻 𝓈𝒾𝓃𝓈.
When someone is in a sinful lifestyle and are taking the necessary steps to come out of agreement with it. The mercy of Gods love will need to be in full effect, particularly through those He choses to use as vessels of reconciliation.
